On the first of each month, our firm votes for Team Member of the Month for the previous month. Each member of the team casts their vote based upon three categories:

• Contribution to the team
• First-rate attitude
• Professional appearance

My pick for team member of the month for October is definitely Rachel. We have undergone some major changes at the firm and Rachel has tackled new tasks, old tasks, and tasks that she is never expected to complete. We really have come together as a team and Rachel is the glue of it all with her can-do attitude, amazing work ethic, and willingness to help anyone that needs it. Congratulations, Jennifer!

Jennifer is our winner for Team Member of the Month for the month of July!

Jennifer is our firm's Law Clerk. She is currently in her second year of law school at McGeorge in the evening division. When Jennifer is not working, at school, or studying she enjoys taking day trips, hiking, riding her bike and brunching!

The team had the following comments about Jennifer:

While the firm has had some personnel changes in recent months, employees have had to take on additional tasks or cover additional roles during the transition and probably none more so than Jennifer, who had to take on previous duties in helping to run the firm as well as her newer law clerk responsibilities. She has managed to juggle it all, despite also being a law school student with classes week in and week out.

My pick is going to have to be Jennifer. Not only has she stepped in to handle the role of Business Director, but she also helps out with the front of the house/front desk duties, training new staff, she handles client phone calls and keeps the office running. She has been able to handle all of the demanding tasks thrown at her and has even started training on complex legal issues and drafting in her role here at the firm as a law clerk (all while attending law school at night). I am continually impressed with her ability to effectively communicate with clients and handle so many different tasks. Thank you Jennie for all that you do for this firm! Congratulations, Liz!

Liz is our winner for Team Member of the Month for the month of July!

Liz is the newest member of the Goralka Law Firm Family. She is also an evening student entering her 2nd year at Lincoln Law School. When she's not studying or working, she is watching stand-up comedy or cooking something delicious.

Liz is our newest Executive Assistant at the firm. With a busy-as-ever July, Liz stepped up and learned a lot of new tasks. Kiran is an associate attorney at the Goralka Law Firm. She was born and raised in Northern California and went to CSU Stanislaus for her MBA and WSU College of Law in Southern California for her law degree. In her free time, Kiran enjoys spending time with her husband, Shawn, and her daughter Arleen while preparing for the arrival of a new baby.

Kiran is always willing to help everyone in the office as well as our clients with anything that comes her way. She’s extremely helpful when working on team projects and provides amazing guidance to make sure our processes are top-notch. Even in a crisis, she takes everything in stride and excels with every challenge. She’s a fashionista, super mom, and great friend. We all are so grateful to have her in the office!

Kiran is my vote for team member of the month for June. Kiran has had to take on a wide variety of responsibilities at the firm and she is always eager to help solve a problem or research a legal issue for a fellow employee.

Lindsey is the firm's Business Director and one of our paralegals. Lindsey also oversees the Corporate Shield Program and handles a wide range of matters. She recently graduated from Chico State with a double major in Business Administration and Political Science. Lindsey is originally from the Bay Area (go Giants!) and recently moved to Sacramento to pursue her legal career. In Lindsey's spare time she likes to take trips to Lake Tahoe and play with Summit, her corgi-mix.

The team had the following comments about Lindsey:

Lindsey continues to work hard to increase her knowledge of corporate matters and administrative matters as her role at the firm expands into new territories. Lindsey often has to juggle schedules for multiple parties in coordinating appointments and teleconferences and is able to adroitly manage the minutia of multiple calendars.

My vote for team member of the month for April is Lindsey. She is the first person in the office every day and the last one to leave. She is always willing to help no matter the task and does so with a smile. She has been essential in assisting John and keeping him on track with urgent client matters. She has taken on a lot of responsibility over the past couple of months and we are very lucky to have her!

Whenever asked to assist with a task, Lindsey takes it upon herself to go above and beyond what is asked. She is a problem solver always coming up with solutions to problems. She is truly an asset to the firm, we are lucky to have her!

My pick is Kait for putting together an amazing GLF 21st Birthday Party!  She worked tirelessly to make sure everything was taken care of, from casino blackjack dealers, to "GLF Currency" for our clients, photo booths, invites, decorations, and fabulous food. Everyone had an amazing time, and it was all thanks to Kait! Great job Kait, for going above and beyond to make sure our clients had the best possible time.  Not only does Kait handle all of our marketing, but she answers client's questions, handles phone calls, and assists with client estate planning.  She is a vital member of our team and is always warm and welcoming to every client that walks through our door!

Kait is truly the face of the office. She answers every client call with a smile and is dedicated to each and every client to reach the best possible outcome for them. Countless times last month, she spent hours on the phone with clients and their advisors to resolve funding issues. She really goes above and beyond. I wouldn't get through my workday without a laugh from Kait Manning. She is such a valuable asset to our firm and we are sincerely lucky to have her! Thank you for all you do, Kait!

Rachel is our winner for Team Member of the Month for the month of December!

Rachel is our Paralegal and is a strong and substantial asset to our firm. When Rachel's not working, she likes to read and spend time with her husband in the Sierra Nevada mountain range.

My vote for December is for Rachel. She is my go-to source for any questions I have and the editing/grammar master in the office. She is always pleasant to be around and is willing to drop what she's doing to answer any questions from anyone in the office, even if it is not related to her workload. I really don't understand how she is able to accomplish so much while answering so many questions throughout the day but she does it!

Rachel helped tremendously in December by drafting special documents for different trusts and transactions. With end-of-year deadlines and questions from clients, Rachel was a helpful source for all of our questions. Rachel is always in a great mood and very professional with her colleagues and with clients.

Jennifer Barcellos! Jennie is constantly picking up extra tasks and making sure everyone knows what they're doing. She even remembers to do things that I mention in passing before I have a chance to do them. When mistakes are made, she is always willing to help come up with a solution to the problem at that moment and also to make a plan to prevent it from happening in the future. Even though she is super busy with work and law school, she always has a smile on her face and never puts her stress on anyone else. I'm not sure how she does it!

My pick is Jennie. She has been handling the daily operations of the law firm while completing her first semester of law school! We are so proud of her and thankful to have her as the firm business director. Kait often has to deal with difficult situations and is able to do so while keeping a smile on her face and in her voice. Kait has to juggle far too many balls with her day-to-day responsibilities but does a fine job in keeping them in the air.

As the office underwent restructuring of certain staff positions, Kait has certainly had her hands full yet comes to work with a smile. Melissa (Missy) is our winner for Team Member of The Month for the month of December.

Melissa (we all know her as Missy) is John's Executive Assistant. Missy recently moved to Sacramento in May of 2015 and enjoys boating, fishing and camping.

Missy truly embodies grace under fire as she expertly handles a myriad of essential and time-sensitive tasks for everyone at the office. Plus, her "can-do" attitude and smile are contagious!

Congratulations Susan!

Susan is our winner for Team Member of The Month for the month of November.​

Susan is one of our Associate Attorneys at the Goralka Law Firm. Outside of work, Susan shifts focus to her husband and two young daughters (and two dogs). Weekends are typically full of quality family time and child enrichment activities, such as: Pulling Weeds or "Bad Plants", Digging for Mr. Worm, Coloring on Paper (and only on the Paper), Blowing Bubbles (but Not into Someone's Face), etc. She also enjoys dabbling in a variety of DIY hobbies: gardening, crafting hairpins, scrapbooking, and putting together IKEA furniture. In her former life (before kids), Susan and her husband played video games for hours on end, watched movies in the actual movie theater, enjoyed dining out without interruptions, and took long, leisurely walks with the dogs. They look forward to doing all of that again – in about 16 years when the kids grow up.

Susan gets my vote for November. I've never experienced an occasion she's been unwilling to drop her own work to help me and others, immediately. Susan's extreme detail-orientation as well as her solid critiquing skills has proven instrumental in my own success at the firm. Kait is always pleasant on the telephone and with clients, even in potentially stressful situations. Kait helps in a wide variety of tasks in the office, encompassing responsibilities that would typically be covered by multiple employees.

Congratulations Jennifer!

Jennifer is our winner for Team Member of The Month for the month of August.

Jennifer is our firm's Business Director. Outside of work she enjoys updating her newly purchased home, cuddling with her two sweet puppies and training for half marathons.

She is the glue that holds our office together. She does not hesitate to step in and help anyone in the office with whatever task they need help with as well as handle her own responsibilities. This past month there have been issues in which myself or others in the office have felt stuck on and she was able to step in and help resolve them. She is very poised and professional and a positive driving force in the office and we just wuv her schooooo much!

Jennifer is the super-glue that keeps it all together and rolling along smoothly at the office! We can focus on what we need to do because Jennifer takes care of everything else. Thank you, Jennifer!

My vote for team member of the month goes to Jennifer. She keeps our business running smoothly and holds us together. She's a very hard worker and a problem solver. I don't think there's anything that's thrown at Jennifer that she cannot take on.

Congratulations Kristin!

Kristin is our winner for Team Member of The Month for the month of July.

Kristin an associate attorney and is the newest member of our team. Outside of the office, Kristin enjoys exploring Northern California, bicycling, and serving the community through Rotary and her church. She resides in Fair Oaks with her husband Jack, and Mango, their African sulcata tortoise.

Kristin is very helpful and always answers all of my questions. There is never a day that she isn't friendly and smiling, which makes the work environment pleasurable. She is a hard worker and fits in perfectly with our firm.

Kristin has gone above and beyond in participating in networking opportunities on behalf of the firm including giving up before-work hours and evening hours for networking meetings or events. Kristin is happy to assist where needed with a pleasant attitude.

My choice for July is Kristin. I appreciate Kristin's positive attitude every day when she comes to work. Missy has done a great job since she has become a full-time employee. Any task she is given she goes above and beyond. We are thankful to have her here!

My vote for June is Missy. She is always willing to help with anything and has a great attitude every day. She has been a tremendous help to John and keeping his day and projects organized. She has been a huge help to every person in the office as well. From helping with webinar set up, scheduling appointments and answering the phone, to staying late and coming in on the weekend to work during webinars, scanning, helping with billing, the list goes on and on. She has worked so hard and is willing to step in wherever needed and we definitely appreciate her!

Missy is still learning how things run around here and she's doing a really good job of keeping up. She has her own tasks that John gives her but she's always available to help out if needed.

Kait has been so helpful and kind to me while I have been training. I don't know what I would do without her at the moment.

Being new to the firm, I have been blown away by all the positive attitudes in the office. It's difficult to choose just one team member for the month, but I am in earshot of Kait and I am therefore privy to her side of her conversations with clients. Not only is she extremely empathetic and patient, but she is also genuinely interested in our clients' lives. Even when she's drowning in her own work, she still is able to handle the office and keep things in-check. I can come and ask her questions whenever I have a problem. She seems to always have a solution to everything.

My vote is for Jennie, not only is she John's right hand but she is basically everyone in the office's right hand. She always has a positive and helpful attitude no matter how big or small your question might be. She always dresses very nicely and keeps a professional demeanor. She planned Wine Down Wednesday which turned out great and she has been putting in a lot of overtime and has been coming in on the weekends to make sure that everything runs smoothly for everyone in the office. She is the definition of a team player.
