Attorney - Estate Planning / Business Transactions

The Goralka Law Firm is Sacramento, CA based and for over 20 years has attracted a caring, motivated, and talented team of lawyers and support staff who provide tax planning, estate planning, trust administration and business transaction services. We help successful families, business owners and real estate owners minimize income and estate tax to better protect their assets. As a result, our clients can transition their legacies and family values to the next generation. A key measure to our success is that we are now serving the second and third generations of these families.

While we are a small, boutique firm, we are nationally recognized for our unique and creative solutions for tax and estate planning challenges.

We are seeking an Attorney who has recently begun their legal career and has discovered that their present firm does not provide them with the culture and professional development that they had hoped for. A good candidate will have some estate planning or business transaction experience and/or would like the training and mentoring to grow their career in these areas.

Qualifications for this position Include:

  • JD degree from an accredited law firm
  • California Bar License in good standing
  • 2 years Estate Planning, Trusts and Probate a plus
  • 2 years Business Transactions a plus
  • 2 years prior experience as a Legal Assistant or Paralegal a plus
  • 2 years proficiency in designing and drafting estate plans a plus
  • Proficiency in business transactions and entity formation a plus
  • Strong research skills
  • Desire to become a Certified Specialist with our firm covering related costs
  • Prefers working in a small firm environment, is organized and likes multi-tasking without being micromanaged
  • Enjoys multiple client interactions and problem solving
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Strong computer literacy and proficiency in Microsoft Suite.

Estate Planning Paralegal

We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Paralegal to join our legal team. The ideal candidate will assist attorneys in all stages of litigation, corporate transactions, and estate planning.

Postion Summary:

  • ·Provide direct support to President of firm both professionally and personally handling all aspects of President’s office as requested.
  • Draft legal documents and correspondence for trust administration, probate, estate planning, business, corporate and high net-worth/advanced planning clients as needed.
  • Manage and oversee procedures and processes to streamline and improve operations

Paralegal Responsibilities:

  • Daily meetings with President to review priorities
  • Meet with President after each “Advanced Planning” meeting to review and summarize next steps
  • Draft Engagement Agreements for new clients/matters
  • Revise letters and client correspondence written by President
  • Revise articles for President
  • Schedule appointments for business, corporate and high net-worth clients
  • Follow-up with high net-worth clients who did not engage after initial consultation
  • Return calls for high net-worth clients with questions and comments from President
  • Monitor President’s email for urgent and important matters
  • Maintain and update office memorandums
  • Revise unique legal documents to be saved in the Form File
  • Print documents for President
  • Prepare Seminars/Webinars and related documents for President’s participation and assist with presentations
  • Direct administrative support (both personal and professional) to President of firm to include, but not limited to:
    • Oversee Calendar and Calendar appointments/items (ensure JMG has sufficient time for meetings/hearings/seminars, etc.);
    • Assist with scheduling client meetings and greeting clients;
    • Respond to client requests as requested by the President to include any needs, solutions to any problems, changes to client’s documents and organize/summarize all items communicated to President;
    • Organize and update
    • Type/compose correspondence as needed/requested;
    • Internet research as requested;
    • Organization/tracking of President’s travel accommodations
    • Routine filing
  • Draft estate and tax planning documents for capital gains planning engagements and high net worth clients
  • Maintain Corporate Shield Service Clients throughout the enrolled year and preparing minutes and related documents as needed
  • Meet with estate planning clients to sign documents
  • Notarize client documents (if currently a notary)
  • Discuss questions and comments from estate planning and asset protection clients
  • Act as witness during signing appointment as needed
  • All other projects as assigned

  • Legal administrative experience
  • Strong research skills, including legal research
  • Experience in legal case management and document review

  • Proficient in proofreading and transcription
  • Knowledge of contracts and document management systems
  • Data entry and clerical experience
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
